Between today’s iPhone release à la Second Coming and a predictably stellar Q1 performance review by RIM, finding fresh news this morning has been tough. With some diligent forum lurking though, we’ve got a juicy tidbit from Pinstack’s hayden. Word has it a Wi-Fi capable BlackBerry 8320 will be hitting the streets in September on T-Mobile and packing a 3.2 megapixel camera akin to the rumored Pearl 2’s.
# 3.2 megapixel camera (or better)
# Flash improvement and 6x digital zoom
# 3.5 mm Headset Jack
# External microSD slot
# Wi-Fi capable
# 64MB of memory
# Streaming media support
# 4.5 hours of talk time/17 days of standby
# Stereo Bluetooth
# Windows Media DRM & MTP
# Black or semi Black to be available at later date. (we were right! -ed.)
# Top and rear loudspeaker
# Motion Lock
# High speed USB
# Improved build quality
Streaming media support sounds pretty sexy, and with Jim Dog talking 3G for BlackBerry, it seems entirely feasible. DRM could be a point of contention, considering all of the iTunes issues as of late. If Windows Media can offer a robust enough DRM system to attract record labels while not pissing on end users, music on BlackBerrys could very well have a bright future.

Improved build quality would be a big step in the right direction. I returned my Curve because of various build quality issues, and some internal stuff as well. Second round is always better with most devices anyway!

Most of the above jives with what I have heard. Its my understanding the camera will only be around 2MP. The phone should end up having UMA so it may end up working with the new @home service. That could be cool….
I am looking forward to replacing my 8700g with this one! I am happy at least that they are rewarding us for waiting with WiFi.

Does any one know if the 8320 is going to have GPS? Just like the 8820 which has wifi and GPS, but its going to AT&T. T-Mobile is rumored to get the 8320 in Sep and the 8820 is rumored to come out early Aug. I would fig it would have same functions if not better.
The 8320 will not be released to rogers. EVER! Which is good because i wanted a phone that no one will have in my area
Also i was told that the camera is a 2MP not 3.2MP.
